Ringing In The New Year

First I want to wish you a Happy New Year and a prosperous 2008. I also hope you had a good holiday season. If it was a time of difficulty, as it is for some, know that you are in my thoughts as well. Life marches on holiday or not.

I also want to thank you for taking the time and making the effort to subscribe to The Producers Spotlight. After 18 years of owning a business that required driving to and from an office, I am in the process of transforming the entire business to the digital world. The ‘Spotlight’ is the first step.

It has been a fascinating ride so far. As you all know, some change goes easy and some goes hard. This has been a challenge to creativity, to the inventiveness that makes its demands on all of us. It is a different way of presenting and packaging what I’ve taught over the past 18 years. It is my sincere desire to continue the personalized approach that has been the cornerstone of my teaching and coaching style, but to deliver the information in different formats: video, audio, written or live presentations over the Internet. Whether you embrace technology or not, it is here to stay. This old dog is learning a lot of new tricks.

There is something that’s bothered me over the last few weeks. When you initially subscribed to this site I sent an email saying I’d do an automatic send of the new articles I wrote. A couple of them got to you before we changed the mailing system. As part of learning the new product, I’ll be figuring out how to automatically send new blogs as I write them. My intention was and is to make all this as efficient and simple as possible. I told you I’d make it easy by doing an auto-send and I fell down on that promise. Sorry for any confusion or inconvenience.

I have put a new audio clip “Breaking Through Objections” on the site. It’s free to all. Look at the box at the top right of the Home Page. Enter you email address in the appropriate box. Since you have already subscribed, click on the ‘Hear Audio – for current subscribers’ and then hit Go. I sincerely hope you find value in this piece. There will be more like it to come.

And lastly, as time goes on I want to make this site interactive. There is an awful lot of information on the Internet and a lot of knowledgeable folks to learn from. I’m asking for your help so I can better focus on your needs and give you information that is timely and helpful. But most of all I want this to be two-way relationship. I want to figure out a way to share our experiences. The gems you give to others, to help them on their way, will be returned to you as well. We all have a wealth of experience. We are all teachers. I want somehow to be the hub of an expansive wheel that connects producers, that connects this vast resource of information that you all have. We can create that together. There is an ‘Add New Comment’ button at the bottom of each article on the site. Please feel free to add whatever you like, pro or con. That’s a simple way to begin.

This note got a bit longer than I had planned. Thanks for taking a moment out of your busy day to listen. Let’s envision bigger and better things to come in the New Year.

All the best, Steve K.

great time to call prospective clients

Hi Steve,
I am finding prospective clients quite responsive at present. Much more so than when the markets were up.
